Erin Christensen, School Manager & Instructor
Erin Christensen is a Canadian art jeweller and silversmith, originally from Edmonton, Alberta. She received her BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2015 where she majored in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing. Following her graduation, she was awarded a finalist position for the 2016 Niche Awards in the Student Teapot category and featured in a various publications including British Vogue Magazine and the Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook. Erin's work continues to be exhibited throughout North America and Europe. She now resides in Victoria, BC and you can find her work at several galleries and shops in the Pacific Northwest.
Erin works primarily with chasing and repoussé on sterling silver, a traditional metalsmithing technique. The intention of her work is to revive and celebrate the history of an ancient technique; while conveying life, our inherent need for beauty, and reconnection with the world around us. Playful combinations of rhythmic forms with detailed textures are used to create her unique and thoughtful contemporary designs.
