Cheryl Jacobs

Cheryl Jacobs’ love of stones led to a jewelry apprenticeship in San FranciscoCalifornia in the early 1980’s. She attended classes in casting, granulation and stone setting at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts and a jewelry course at San Francisco State. In 1987 she started her own business doing one-of-a-kind hand fabricated jewelry for various stores in the San Francisco Bay area. After relocating with her family to Denman Island in 1993, she set up her studio where she now produces her own line of jewelry using the lost wax casting method. Cheryl creates all the designs and original wax castings herself.
Teaching has been a large part of her business as she has taught classes in recreation centre’s on Vancouver Island in beginners and advanced silversmithing for 22 years and lost wax casting out of her studio in
Cumberland. She now teaches jewellery at the Campbell River campus of North Island College in the new Metal Design Jewelry Program, in its 7th year. She teaches at Lupine art studio in Courtenay and will have her first workshop at Metchosin International School of the Arts in Sooke, this summer.
Cheryl Jacobs Designs jewelry has been featured in galleries in
